1      Introduction to Web Site Demo

1.1   Welcome to Anatomy Facts Demo page.

1.2   If you got to this page from the Web site and want to take, a power point tour of the site read the instructions below and go to section 3 (Links) below. Click on the “Web Site Demo” to take the tour.

1.3   Below are the instructions you will need to run the power point presentation on your computer. Instructions

2      School Administrators and staff

2.1   If you are a school administrator viewing this on the Web or you were given a CD, this page will provide a link to power point presentations of a FREE lecture/workshop series, which can be delivered onsite to your school. (Southern California Only)  Each of these lectures can be tailored to your schools time and other constraints. Student handouts and illustrations are included in these presentations. There are currently four presentations (see links below in the series as follows;

2.1.1   Old Timer Talk

2.1.1.1          A successful Massage therapist with over 30 years experience provides your students with a funny, entertaining, insightful and informative talk.

2.1.1.2          “I’m old, I’ve done Massage for a long time and I want to talk about it.”

2.1.1.3.1    Students have responded with great enthusiasm to the old timer talks conducted at the schools so far. The evaluation forms completed by students at National Institute of Technology in Long Beach (4/7/2004) for example felt the talk was “just excellent” "Very good and entertaining presenter!" 2.1.2   Web Site Demo

2.1.2.1          Takes you on a tour of some of the features of the free Web site on Massage therapy and related topics.

2.1.2.2          This free Web site has the goals as follows;

2.1.2.2.1    Prepare massage students and professionals for the National Certification Exam.
2.1.2.2.2    Extend knowledge and skills to improve daily practice
2.1.2.2.3    Assist massage researchers in completing their projects
2.1.2.2.4    Act as a depository for current research on massage therapy
2.1.2.2.5    Facilitate communication between students and professionals

2.1.3   Clinical Methods-Lumbar

2.1.3.1          Simple easy to learn palpation techniques to help massage therapists painlessly treat common Musculoskeletal problems which clients bring to the clinic or spa.

2.1.3.2          A student handbook is provided

2.1.3.3          This lecture clearly defines learning objectives, discusses functional anatomy, includes a workshop to practice the techniques, provides a summary of the concepts discussed, includes a post workshop quiz and post session evaluation.

2.1.4   Clinical Methods-Plantar Foot

2.1.4.1          Teaches students about scientific method and how to test massage techniques on their clients. A unique view of why people hurt is explored. The areas that pain can refer are discussed as well as how to do pain rating using a scale. The bones, connective tissue & muscle attachments of the plantar foot and a simple compression and stretching technique is used on the connective tissue structures of the foot

2.1.4.2          . A student handbook is provided

2.1.4.3           This lecture clearly defines learning objectives, discusses functional anatomy, includes a workshop to practice the techniques, provides a summary of the concepts discussed, includes a post workshop quiz and post session evaluation.

2.1.5   Taoist Meditation

2.1.5.1          Meditation techniques massage therapists can practice and teach their clients. This lecture helps students understand the foundation of Eastern massage techniques such as Shiatsu and acupressure.

2.1.5.2          A student handbook is provided.

2.1.5.3          This lecture clearly defines learning objectives, discusses Taoist philosophy, includes a workshop to practice the techniques, provides a summary of the concepts discussed, includes a post workshop quiz and post session evaluation.

3      Instructions

3.1   Manual or Automated slide show

3.1.1   Click the link below and the slide show page will appear in your web page browser.

3.1.2   Some browsers will allow for an automated full screen slide show. If this is the case look for an icon usually in, the lower right hand corner of your screen. Click on this icon for a full screen automated show.

3.1.3   The manual show will probably load pictures faster especially for dial-up connections.

3.1.4   If your browser only allows for a manual show, you will notice usually at the bottom of your screen arrow keys, which allow you to manually proceed thru the slides.

3.1.5   On the left hand side of your screen, you should notice an index with headings you can click on to move around the presentation.

3.1.6   Enjoy.

3.2   Additional Instructions

3.2.1   If you want to pause the presentation or otherwise navigate the slides, click your right mouse button and a control panel will appear for you convenience.
